Meet the Team

Kirsty – Head Coach

Kirsty - Head Coach

Head Coach. I’m a Level 2 qualified coach and have been coaching for over 10 years. Being a qualified Primary teacher allows me  to bring a unique perspective to the club. My enthusiasm comes from years of commitment having being a swimmer myself, now I love to give back to the club that helped me find my passion. I am in charge of organising the Yearly Plan for our training and team selection.

Rachel

Rachel

I’m a Level 2 qualified coach who has been with the club for the last 4 years, and have been coaching for 5 years previous to that. I’m qualified in Sports Massage and Kineosology taping, and am finshing my degree in Sports Psychology. I am solely responsible for organising the club kit.

Fiona

Fiona Thomson

I’m a Level 2 qualified coach and have been coaching for over 10 years. Being a town planner for Aberdeenshire council and living in Aberdeen means my time poolside during the week is limited. However, at the weekends I can be found poolside helping at the many galas I enter the children in. Also as team manager, I have a number of Scottish Swimming requirements I have to adhere to.

Lynda

Lynda Petrie

I’m a Level 2 qualified coach. I got involved when my daughters joined the club. I have a keen interest in swimming having being a swimmer myself last century (!) and wanted to contribute to the
club given how much my daughters get out of being members. I genuinely enjoy interacting with the children and seeing them progress to achieve their own goals. My day job is in Information
Governance in the NHS and this enables me to bring some data protection experience to the club in my role on the Committee as the clubs data protection officer.

I’m a level 1 qualified coach and have been coaching/helping for 4 years. I myself am still swimming, but I really enjoy being able to coach the younger squads and see them progress through the club the way I did. Being a swimmer and a coach brings a great perspective of where the club is and where it is going.

Sophia

I’m a level 1 swim coach. I’ve had a keen interest in swimming since a toddler. I started competitive swimming when I was around 9 years old, and I’ve been a member of Monifieth Swim Club since I was around 14 years old.

I became a swimming coach because I want to inspire younger swimmers and help them achieve their goals.
